Although it not may be your primary alternative as coupe cars are less than the 10% of Canada's yearly vehicle sales, we all would love to have one available for fun once a while. Mostly if you are a sports vehicle lover, manual driving or even having your vehicle in "Sports Mode" all the time, it is among the bucket list of many drivers out there. So, what Canadians prefer? Here the list of the best 2019 Coupe Cars in Canada based on 2018 sales.
Best 2019 Coupe Cars in Canada
As usual, most of our rankings are built based on unit sales and price, but we will focus today exclusively on the number of delivered vehicles during the full calendar year of 2018. For the full list of Coupe Cars sorted by price, please refer to our Coupe & Convertible Cars in Canada Explorer.
#1 - Ford Mustang: 8,300+ delivered units during 2018
For more than 55 years, the Mustang has been the iconic sports vehicle from the American manufacturer. It is so prevalent in Canada that reaches more than double the amount of units sold than the second most popular coupe, the Audi A5.
While Ford has recently announced to retire most of Sedans from the production lines to focus only on SUVs, the Taurus and the Mustang will be the only models that will continue to be built.
#2 - Audi A5: 3,600+ delivered units during 2018
Available only since 2007 and now on it's the second generation, the A5 is the most popular European coupe in Canada. The AWD versatility of the vehicle (Audi's Quattro technology) makes it a top alternative while most coupe vehicles need to be stored during winter because of snowy/icy conditions.
#3 - Dodge Challenger: 3,400+ delivered units during 2018
In the market since 1970, the Challenger is the second most popular couple from the U.S. in Canada for the last 18 years. It is the main competitor in the U.S. of the Mustang and the #4th in Canada, the Camaro.
#4 - Chevrolet Camaro: 2,900+ delivered units during 2018
The Camaro has multiple generations that make the current 6th to be the latest (2016 - today). Surprisingly, due to a drop in sales by the early 2000's, "the model" resulted in a stop on the production from 2002 to 2010, when it was redesigned and relaunched to the market. The results: more than 180 Camaros are sold every day in the U.S. and almost 3,000 were delivered in Canada last year.
#5 - Volkswagen Beetle: 2,800+ delivered units during 2018
The vehicle that popularized the German manufacturer and that was born back in 1938, the Beetle is still popular among Canadians. Almost 3,000 units were delivered during 2018.
