We can't complain too much about the 2018-2019 winter here in Montreal. Although very tough at the very beginning with more snow and cold than usual, it softens down later in February and March has been very kind. What's next? Getting ready for the upcoming seasons:
Schedule Your Tire Change
For the health of your pocket, start to think by when would be a good idea to put back your summer tires. Winter tires wear pretty fast during non-winter seasons, so don't fall for it. Try to get these on ASAP. The ideal time window is between April 1st and 15th, although you can legally do it earlier in the provinces where it is required by law to drive with Winter Tires on.
A secondary fact is regarding storage. Many local workshops have local space conceived for storing tires. As we all know, storage is limited: first arrive, first serve.
The same goes for "tempos" or car shelters. Many cities regulate the dates these are allowed to be installed. If you are leasing one, remember to call the company to schedule your removal earlier. The earliest you plan both, the easiest will be for you to prepare for the coming seasons.
High Sale Season Begins
March is the first month of the ten months market high season. It is a regular pattern year after year that you notice once you analyze the market trends month after month. If you were planning to get a vehicle, the next few months will flourish with offers from manufacturers as well as Lease Takeovers from many of our clients who will be upgrading to the most recent releases.
Just see the example of the top-selling vehicle in Canada: the Ford F-Series. December - February sales together average any of the following months until September. It shows up as an excellent opportunity to negotiate, trade-in, or even return your leased vehicle before the term is over.
Remember that, the higher the volume of sales, the more opportunity for dealerships to reduce the profit for a specific unit on the sale, as it helps them to reach new levels on their race for the volume delivery.
Enjoy!
Even by saying that I love skiing with my family, it is time for a break. Let's just take our well-deserved break from the winter and enjoy the next eight months until we miss snow again.
